This website was written by me, Andy Smith, based on my experience of working in a tree nursery growing tens of thousands of trees each year. These trees were subsequently planted across Northern Ireland.
I now run my own little business in Donegal building websites like this one. When I’m not working, you can find me looking after our three-quarters of an acre of wild and windswept garden that we manage for the benefit of ourselves and the local wildlife.
I hope these pages help you grow and identify the trees and shrubs considered native throughout Ireland, the UK and parts of Europe.
